Class Descriptions

3's Class

This class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 12 pm. We incorporate a curriculum into our daily routine and focus on learning colors, shapes, the alphabet, and numbers. This class is mostly play based with circle time and centers throughout the morning. We begin to foster a love of learning in this class that carries over to the next year. We make crafts daily and have music every Tuesday. We attempt to go outside every class, however, in lieu of bad weather we play inside or go to yoga class as an alternative. Field trips are taken throughout the year and special guest speakers are also invited to the classrooms.

4's and 4/5's Class

This class meets Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9am to 12pm. We incorporate a curriculum into our daily routine. This class reinforces a love for learning and inquisitiveness which prepares the children for kindergarten. By the end of the year the children can write their first names, correctly identify all the letters in the alphabet (both uppercase and lowercase), recognize numbers 1-20, and recite their address and phone number when asked. Field trips are taken throughout the year and special guest speakers are also invited to the classrooms. The older children generally will be placed in the 4/5's class and the younger ones in the 4's.

Enrichment Class

This class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 12pm. This is a smaller group than the other classes so this facilitates more hands on involvement in activities, especially experiments. Math and science are emphasized in this class, however, art, literature and other cultural elements are embedded in the lessons as well. There is usually a theme to the lesson plans such as planets, insects and cultural traditions.
